Flagpole
Rapids Cemetery does not yet have a permanent flagpole to display the American flag proudly. Discussions are underway with local veterans groups, the City of Rochester and the 19th Ward History & Archives Group to purchase and illuminate a flagpole. Financial support is welcome.
On 11/11 @ 11am, 2020, there was a ceremony at Rapids Cemetery to honor the veterans. Hon. Richard A. Dollinger sang the National Anthem.
A future installation of a permanent flagpole would honor the memory of veterans buried at Rapids Cemetery from the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and the Civil War 
Veterans Day commemoration with the temporary use of an American flag
